Program Overview

Program Description:
This programme is aimed at those working in a practice setting or those wishing to enter a career as an Environmental Health Practitioner whether in the public or private sectors. The BSc (Hons) Environmental Health at Middlesex University is fully recognised and accredited by the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) as a degree that enables you to enter the environmental health profession.

The programme explores the relationship between your work, home and leisure environments and how they impact on your health. You will be given the knowledge and skills to assess, and apply solutions to protect and improve public health in a variety of settings and evaluate the legal and social framework within which environmental health operates. The first and second years are focussed on underpinning science and environmental health knowledge, skills and thinking. Subjects include Housing, Pollution, Food Safety and Occupational Health & Safety. In the final year there is a deeper focus on food safety and occupational health and safety and public health strategy.

Setting Description:
This course is based at our Hendon campus in north-west London. The Hendon campus is home to the Business School, the School of Engineering and Information Sciences and most courses from the School of Health and Social Sciences.
