Program Overview

Program Description:
If you want to practise law as a solicitor or barrister, or to enter some other law-related form of employment, then the LLB Honours Law degree is your best choice. It is the only undergraduate course that offers a qualifying law degree for exemption from the academic stage of professional legal education, recognised by the Joint Academic Stage Board of Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and Bar Standards Board (BSB). On the LLB Honours Law degree you will gain an excellent grounding in legal skills and the foundation subjects and opportunities to gain specialist knowledge in optional modules such as Employment and Discrimination Law.

Legal research skills are reinforced in optional modules and in your first year have an opportunity to take part in a moot. A high percentage of lecturers are qualified as solicitors, barristers, or both, in the UKand other jurisdictions. We encourage you to consider spending your third year at a university abroad or on placement in London or the UK and then return to Middlesex for the fourth and final year of study. Students who graduate with at least a lower second class honours will be guaranteed a place at the College of Law to undertake the Legal Practice Course (the next stage towards becoming a solicitor).

Setting Description:
This course is based at our Hendon campus in north-west London. The Hendon campus is home to the Business School, the School of Engineering and Information Sciences and most courses from the School of Health and Social Sciences.
