Program Overview

Program Description:
Participants in the Postgraduate Executive Summer School Social Security are persons with a great interest and/or involvement in social security. They are open minded and would like to study social protection throughout Europe in a multinational, multidisciplinary, comparative way. As such social security researchers and teachers, as well as people involved in the administration of social security and in social policy development will feel attracted.

The Executive Summer School in Social Security aims at giving participants in an intensive postgraduate programme a basic knowledge of social security in its various aspects. The programme is articulated around two courses of each 10 ECTS: - Comparative study of the social security systems - Social security law, policy & economics Each course includes 30 contact hours; each course will have to be prepared before coming to the summer school; readers to that effect will be prepared and put at the disposal of students two months in advance. Each course will also include a take home exercise that will have to be handed in within two months. The programme includes 2 exams, which will be taken at the end of the summer school. The postgraduate diploma of the Summer School will be awarded after successful completion of the two exams and the two exercises.
