Program Description:
By taking full advantage of a state-of-the-art Information and Communication Technology (ICT) system, the Kansai University Information Technology Center (IT Center) provides a campus-wide support for studies and researches as well as administrative affairs. It is true that students access website on a daily basis for several purposes including writing reports, scientific computation, class registration and job search. In other words, the use of personal computers under a safe and comfortable Internet environment has become indispensable for student life. To meet the needs of students, PCs are freely available along with its counseling corner at the Center. In addition, there are several wireless access points set up on campus allowing students to use their own PCs and access the campus network. Furthermore, SHOBUNKAN Multimedia Center has authoring devices, which edit data such as moving images, sounds, graphics and animation as well as filming equipment, being used to prepare educational materials and conduct researches. Multimedia AV Large Hall is equipped with a video-conferencing system, which enables remote lectures with other universities and institutions. Information Technology Center PC corner Kansai University's gigabit science information network KAISER has been established with the aim of providing a support for advanced researches and education and it is available at the university's all five campuses (Senriyama campus, Takatsuki campus, Tenroku campus, Takatsuki Muse campus and Sakai campus). The university has been chosen as one of the SINET3 node, which is the world's fastest science information network operated by the National Institute of Informatics (NII). The network is used to collaborate with research institutes inside and outside the university as well as to provide a high level of education with the use of multimedia tools.
