Program Description:
This nationally recognized program offers rigorous academics combined with abundant hands-on training to prepared students to become effective practitioners in sport psychology and related areas. Graduates from this innovative program are able to integrate the core elements of performance enhancement, counseling skills, and sport science within their practice. The faculty of the Sport Psychology program is actively engaged in mentoring students, maintaining an open-door policy to provide flexible access for students outside the classroom. As highly qualified academics and experienced practitioners, many of the Sport Psychology program faculty have worked with Olympians, professional or college teams and athletes, as well as with community-based groups and individuals. The program offers an MA in Sport Psychology, a MA-PsyD linked option, and a Certificate in Exercise and Sport Performance - all of which prepare graduates to apply for certification by the Association for Applied Sport Psychology (AASP).
