Program Description:
Graduate students select from one of a variety of seminars to carry out research in lifestyles and the environment. The results of their research form the basis of their master's thesis. These seminars are divided into three groups. The first group is concerned with clothing and consists of seminars on fashion culture, apparel design, and apparel engineering. The second group is concerned with housing and consists of seminars on environment design and space design. The third group consists of seminars related to humans and their environment with basic research conducted into food and housing. This third group consists of seminars on human engineering, physiological anthropology, materials physics, materials chemistry, and environmental management. The results of research in Master's Program in the Human Environmental Sciences course are published in the journals of academic associations. Publication in such professional journals is the basis for acquiring the master's degree.
