Particle accelerators play an increasingly important role in recent years as experimental apparatus for the study of nuclear and particle physics, and other fields as material and life science. The aims of this department are to develop acceleration schemes and accelerator devices based on new principles, and to apply accelerators to the studies in radiation physics, material science and biological science.
