Program Overview

Program Description:
Felician College’s Master of Arts in Education program covers issues of importance and relevance for today’s educators, such as changes in trends, practices, research, legislation, and policies, thereby giving you the knowledge and ability to lead and excel with an informed mind and understanding heart. Students can choose from tracks in Elementary Education, Teacher of Students with Disabilities, School Nurse, or Health Education. Students can enroll in the Master of Arts in Education whether or not they are certified to teach. The program meets the needs of both certified teachers looking to earn a masters degree and advance their careers, and students looking to become certified and enter the teaching profession with the advantages offered by a master’s degree. Students who are enrolled in the master’s program but are not currently certified to teach may obtain teacher certification by completing an additional four credits in their chosen track. The Master of Arts in Education at Felician College trains educators to balance skills and knowledge with compassion, and emphasizes learner-centered education. Our faculty integrates philosophies of curriculum development with an awareness of current, national, state and local trends. You will learn effective instruction and a variety of teaching models for individuals, as well as for small and large groups.
