We offer intensive tuition at MA level and our strong tradition of supporting postgraduate research is demonstrated by the many students who have gone on to successful academic careers

The MA in Social & Economic History (Research Methods) is intended for students specialising in social and/or economic history. We offer expert supervision in many aspects of late medieval, early modern and modern British and European social and economic history, as well as parts of the Americas and Africa.

This MA will provide students with the necessary research training skills to support PhD study in social and economic history and there is a particular emphasis on training in quantitative methods.  This programme is also attractive to employers and past students on this degree have taken high-earning jobs in the City of London.
