Program Description:

The Romantic and Victorian Literary Studies MA caters for those who wish to specialise in this area of English Literature.  Studying with acknowledged experts in the subject, you will write a dissertation on the subject of your choice.  Durham is one of the best English Departments in the country, offering the opportunity to study at the highest level in a beautiful environment. 

You will choose two modules from the Romantic and Victorian Literary Studies set on offer and your dissertation will concentrate on an area related to that specialism.  You may take a further module from any of the English MA modules on offer.  All students must take the core Research Methods and Resources module. 

 

International Requirements:

We welcome applications from overseas students, who should be proficient in spoken and written English. We prefer IELTS, with a miniumum overall score of 7.5 including a 7 in writing; or TOEFL PBT (paper-based):625 ; or IBT (internet-based) 113. Successful applicants may also wish to consider a Pre-Sessional English course at the Language Centre in Durham.
