Programme Summary Social and economic changes in Ireland in recent years have given rise to increasing numbers of speakers of other languages in schools. This has brought about new government policies to increase the number of English Language Teaching (ELT) posts in primary and post-primary schools. About this programme This programme aims to equip professional practitioners with the theory, practice and research capability that will enable them to develop the knowledge, skills and competencies to teach in an intercultural context. The MA will be a course of teacher education in the field of TESOL – Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages - and will run from September-June. For the award of MA TESOL candidates will be required to submit a dissertation in August.
