Program Overview

Program Description:
Biomedical science is a rapidly growing field with increasing application to everyday life all over the world. It affects everyone in many ways, from the development of new medicines and drugs to the creation and delivery of diagnostic technologies and progress towards revolutionary clinical therapies. Our postgraduate courses are designed to provide you with an understanding of the application of the most recent laboratory, computer and industrial technology developments in the biological sciences within a medical context. They examine the latest knowledge and technologies in research, diagnosis, epidemiology, microbiology, biotechnology and data analysis, and combine this with hands-on laboratory work using state-of-the-art instrumentation. We offer courses at postgraduate diploma and master level, each allowing you to specialise in differing fields to suit your career ambitions. The master offers the choice of biomedical science, infectious diseases or molecular biotechnology. The postgraduate diploma emphasises recent advances and current developments in medical science generally. These courses will encourage your professional and personal development through active learning. You will apply and test the knowledge you gain through case studies, company reports and business plans. You’ll also obtain practical, hands-on experience through project work.
