Program Description:

The graduate program in American Studies is committed to wide-ranging, critical exploration of culture and society in the United States and the Americas. The program encourages students to address issues and devise methodologies that cut across conventional academic boundaries, while building strong expertise in one major field. Through this interdisciplinary approach, the program prepares students for careers in higher education, museums, publishing, government, and other professions that require a capacity for rigorous, interdisciplinary investigation.
