Program Description:

City University of Seattle's Executive Leadership graduate certificate program is designed for aspiring school superintendents and district level administrators. If you are currently an education leader with a master's degree or higher seeking Washington State certification as a superintendent, this program is for you. The Executive Leadership program specializes in preparing educators to lead 21st century schools and school systems and is driven by state and national standards (Interstate School Leadership Licensure Consortium/ISLLC). The program is research and performance-based and utilizes personalized assessments to identify your strengths and professional growth needs. Throughout the course, you will engage in simulations, presentations, research, and critical issues debates focusing on school system leadership and the development and sustaining of reforms within schools and school districts. Via in-class and online instruction, as well as small learning team discussions, you will have the opportunity to investigate complex local and international political, cultural, and social issues with instructors who have experience putting theory into practice. Upon successful completion of this program, City University of Seattle will recommended you for Washington State Superintendent or Program Administrator Certification.
