Program Overview

Program Description:
The Robert Bosch Foundation Fellowship enables American professionals to acquire an in-depth understanding of the political, economic, and cultural environments of Germany and European Union. Each year, twenty Fellows complete a nine-month program consisting of two high-level work phases in major German institutions (including the Federal Government, the Federal Parliament, headquarters of private corporations, law firms, think-tanks, print and broadcast media, associations, and cultural organizations) and participate in three European-wide seminars. Bosch Fellows meet with key decision-makers in the public and private sectors, and deepen their understanding of issues facing Germany, the EU and the transatlantic relationship today.

Fellows receive a generous 1,800 euro monthly stipend and health, accident and liability insurance coverage. All program-related travel costs are covered and additional funding is available for families. Intensive German language training is provided as needed in the U.S. and Germany for up to seven months prior to program start. No German language skills are required at the time of application.

Candidates should be US citizens between the ages of 23 and 34 with 2+ years relevant work experience in their proposed field of work in Germany.
