Program Overview

Program Description:

In 2002, Carnegie Mellon University established its Silicon Valley campus at Moffett Field in Mountain View, California to offer its world-renowned part-time and full-time master’s programs in software engineering, software management, information technology, and innovation management; to perform innovative research that connects it to local companies; and to support the careers of all Carnegie Mellon alumni. Our part-time graduate programs in Software Engineering and Software Management are designed specifically for working professionals and feature pragmatic, project-based curricula. The programs’ flexible schedules and web-enabled materials ensure that students are able to conveniently fit their coursework around their work schedules. Both our MS in Software Engineering and MS in Software Management part-time programs are designed to fit your busy schedule and advance your career. Our part-time programs are focused on providing you with a pragmatic and personal educational experience that will immediately improve your technical expertise and your effectiveness in software-intensive businesses. Both programs can be completed remotely from off-campus. In addition to our full-time programs in Software Engineering and Software Management here at the Silicon Valley campus, we offer full-time master’s programs in Information Technology and Innovation Management as well as a ground-breaking Ph.D. program in Mobility, offered through the main campus’s CyLab. Each of these programs is bi-coastal, combining the rich heritage of the main campus in Pittsburgh, PA with the exciting career and research opportunities of Northern California.
