Program Overview

Program Description:
The Pre-CDS program is for those students wishing to complete the required prerequisite coursework for application to the Communication Disorders and Sciences (CDS) Master's Degree Program. If you are interested in becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist and you have a Bachelor's Degree in a field other than Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) or CDS, the 2-year online Pre-CDS program is for you. The Pre-CDS program was designed for students who have a Bachelor's degree in another field and need to take the pre-requisite courses necessary for application to the Master's degree program in Communication Disorders and Sciences at CSUN or at other institutions throughout the United States. Information about the CSUN CDS Distance Learning Master's Degree Program can be located at: tsengcollege.csun.edu/cds/ Applications for the Pre-CDS online program will be open in January 2011 for the scheduled Fall 2011 start. Details regarding application dates, materials needed to apply, course schedules, tuition rates, etc. will be posted online in January 2011. Why the CSUN pre-CDS program? •CSUN pre-CDS students may be automatically admitted into the CDS online Master's program at CSUN. •CDS Master's professors teach pre-CDS courses. •Low student-to-professor ratios. •CSUN pre-CDS students develop learner-mentor relationships with their future CDS professors. •The program is taught in a COHORT format: ?Classes are offered in the correct sequence to ALL students, thereby best preparing them for transition to CDS Master's-level study. ?No classes will be cancelled. ?Students progress through the program together, developing professional networking relationships with cohort peers and future CDS colleagues.
