Program Overview

Program Description:
The Master of Theological Studies Program offers a basic introduction to the area of theology primarily as an academic discipline. It is also a program suitable for those who already have a vocation and desire a foundation in the theological disciplines as a complement to their main area of work or research. The MTS is a first theological degree which may lead to advanced studies or which may provide a foundation for some ministry vocations. Although the focus of the MTS degree program is academic study and research, it also provides the opportunity to pursue academic studies in pastoral theology with field-based research. AST adheres to the Tri-Council policies governing research involving human subjects. The MTS program may be completed in two years on a full-time basis. MTS students complete 15 single semester credits and a thesis valued at five credits.
