Hello everyone! I am so excited to be blogging for you all during my trip! I’m a senior Spanish major at West Chester University in
West Chester, PA. I was originally Pre-Med with a Spanish minor when I studied
abroad in 2012. I always assumed that one day I would be able to go to Spain so
when the opportunity presented itself to travel to South America, I jumped on
it. Living with a family, experiencing a foreign country, speaking the
language, and being completely immersed in a new culture changed my life. This
trip made such an impact on my life that I was having second thoughts about my future
careers and goals. As I said before, I figured I could go to Spain any time and in November 2012, I did. I visited my best friend while she was studying abroad in
Granada. After returning from that trip, I knew that I did not want to go to
medical school. I wanted to travel the world and do something with my language
skills. I changed my major and am so thankful to be able to return to Argentina
this summer to do an independent study and receive credit for a class. I will
focus primarily on literature and the dictatorship in Argentina.

While
I was abroad the last time, I kept a blog for my personal use and for my family
to keep up with the things I was doing. Mr. Fiorelli, my high school
English teacher, had us do some things in class but I never expected to love it! I had never given it a second thought or assumed that blogging would
get me anywhere and yet here I am, blogging for all of you to read.

            My
flight leaves from JFK airport direct to Buenos Aires at 10pm tomorrow
(Wednesday May 28). It will be a ten and a half hour overnight flight but it is amazing to think that in 24 hours I will be on my way
to one of my favorite places in the world. I hope you enjoy keeping up with my
adventures over the next five weeks, I know I will have a great time writing about everything I will be doing!
