On each of IHP's study abroad programs, a relatively small group of students and faculty will travel together to several different countries. The group will spend between four and nine weeks in each country while examining issues related to the program theme. The exploration of issues will involve direct contact and interaction with local experts, activists, educators, community members, public figures, and leaders of various government and community organizations. Students will take four classes per semester, earning sixteen credits. Students will augment classes with various site visits and interactive learning experiences.

Semester at Sea sails three voyages each year for academic credit. Unlike traditional immersion programs, we give you a taste of the entire globe as you travel more than 24,000 nautical miles to as many as 12 off-the-beaten-path international destinations or to a fascinating world region for intensive exploration. Approximately 75 upper- and lower-level courses are offered in a variety of subject areas.

A small group of students and faculty will travel to Delhi and Chandigarh, India; Cape Town, South Africa; and Buenos Aires, Argentina to explore issues related to urban planning, politics, economics, and environments (both social and ecological). Study in traditional settings is complemented by on-site comparisons of policy and social movements. Students will earn 16 credits over the semester.

ACM India Studies

The program begins in mid-August, with a three-week orientation, in which students begin an \"Introduction to India\" core course, study Marathi language intensively, and draw up a plan of research for their independent study projects. The regular term begins in early September, where students continue the core course and Marathi language, choose one of three elective courses (in political science, sociology, or environmental studies), and begin to carry out their independent study projects.

    The Centre for Multicultural and International Studies (SEFIA) at Oslo University College (OUC) offers an international one semester full-time course (30 ECTS credits) in Peace and Conflict studies in Puducherry, India.
    Peace and Conflict Studies is taught through an interdisciplinary social science/humanistic approach incorporating elements of sociology, political science, history, philosophy, psychology, social anthropology, geography, economy and religious studies.
