This summer in London we will be living the Shakespearean life, enjoying performances of Shakespeare’s plays. During our four-week stay in London, we will read and see at least five of those plays. We will also spend a day in Stratford-upon-Avon, touring the Shakespeare houses. We will watch and discuss video versions of some of the plays we see. We will take a walking tour of Shakespeare-related sites in London’s South Bank, tour the Globe Theatre, and talk with one or more Shakespearean actors/directors. The class meetings and the plays will take place Monday through Thursday, so weekends will be free to explore London and to travel elsewhere in the British Isles or on the continent.

About United Kingdom
London is accessible, safe, friendly, green, and historic. Londoners are funny people, and they will often joke with you for a while until you figure out they are joking. They talk in an interesting way (what they consider to be English). They love dogs, gardens, and beer. The Tower of London offers a great tour; also not to be missed are St Paul’s Cathedral (walk to the top), the British Museum, the British Library
