Program Description:
The Department of Natural Resource Management provides students with a curriculum that is both grounded in scientific principles and emphasizes the hands-on experience. Students majoring in Natural Resource Management can pursue a concentration in range management, wildlife management, or conservation biology. Graduate programs include the Master of Agriculture, Master of Science non-thesis, and Master of Science in Range and Wildlife Management. Facilities located in the RAS Center include the soils dry lab, the nutrition wet lab, the William A. Adams Big Game Trophy and Game Bird Collection, a computer lab and a small ranch located adjacent to the RAS Center. In addition, Sul Ross State University and Alpine are in the heart of one of the greatest outdoor laboratories in the world, which includes: Big Bend National Park Big Bend Ranch State Park Black Gap Wildlife Management Area Davis Mountain State Park Elephant Mountain Wildlife Management Area We help you take advantage of this natural laboratory through field trips and class projects.
