Program Description:
Our Graduate Certificate in Technical Communication is a 6-course offering comprised of master's level courses in Information Design & Communication. Students must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in order to be eligible for admission. The online Graduate Certificate in Technical Communication program prepares students for a variety of positions in communication design and development. It also helps current technical communicators update and expand their knowledge and skills, enabling them to move ahead in their profession. The certificate also allows those new to the field to explore the possibility of a career in technical and professional communication. Students in the Graduate Certificate in Technical Communication are required to take: --IDC 6001: Practices of Professional Communication --IDC 6002: Information Design --IDC 6030: Visual Design Strategy The remaining three courses can be selected from any of the IDC graduate courses.

Students must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and have a GPA of 2.75 or greater. Students who do not have a degree with a writing intensive background may be required to take leveling courses in writing and/or design.
