Program Description:
Our online Advanced Certificates are designed for individuals who already hold a master's degree and who want to supplement their existing credentials and experience with a 6-course concentration. These six courses are taken from our existing master's curriculum. User experience is at the heart of design, communication, and deployment of new products and processes. Your coursework will center on projects that build a portfolio of deliverables you can use to enter or advance in the field of user experience. You will learn how to: --become the user's advocate; --design communication products that reflect knowledge of how real users work with products; --create products for the Web and other online media, as well as for mobile platforms; --become a content strategist who leads the content creation effort in the companies and organizations you work for; --create information architecture structures that reflect principles of effective navigation and terminology; and --apply skills and knowledge as a business analyst so you can successfully compete for this rapidly growing job opportunity in your field. You'll take 6 courses (18 hours). The 5 required courses focus on requirements, design, testing, and implementation: IDC 6120—Usability Testing IDC 6135—Website Design IDC 6180—Information Architecture IDC 6220—Mobile User Experience IDC 6245—Business Analysis You'll select your 6th course from any of our offerings, which include courses in instructional design, visual thinking, applied graphics, content strategy, and more.
