Program Description:
Spending two or three weeks this summer in the beautiful city of Barcelona to concentrate on your painting may be the opportunity you’ve been seeking to further develop your skills or to explore new directions in style or technique. Without the pressures of the academic year, this extraordinary program encourages experimentation and creative play and could challenge you to clarify your artistic vision.

To study painting in Barcelona is a chance for artists to not only explore new directions in your work but to be inspired by a city that welcomes you, studying in the city that influenced artist such as Miro, Piciasso, Dali and Gaudi.

This program began in 1989 and since then hundreds of students have taken advantage of the opportunity, many returning each year. They know that often the best way to reenergize a too hectic life or a career lacking focus, is to get away from it all and find new pleasures in creating once again.
Setting Description:
Classes will be held in the spacious studios of the Escola d’Arts Plastique disseny mentored by a distinguished faculty. One-on-one reviews of your work will take place on a regular basis and a serious group critique is scheduled at the end of the program. No style, medium or subject matter is required. In fact, coming to Barcelona, armed with an open desire to be inspired by your environment may change the way you see your work. Class sessions are conducted from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. Monday – Friday.
