Description The course is suitable for occupational therapists from a wide range of clinical settings. Its flexible nature allows you to design a programme relevant to you and your career path. The course aims to create an intellectually stimulating opportunity for you to develop academic knowledge and research skills that will enhance your practice Structure This course can be studied full-time or part-time. Full-time students will undertake 120 credits over semesters one and two. MSc students will complete a dissertation over the summer period (15 weeks). The part-time route is more flexible and some modules are available by distance learning. You can register as an associate student to study single modules in areas of interest. Course Covers - Research methods for health professionals 1 (15 credits) - Research methods for health professionals 2 (15 credits) - 2 research methods modules (15 credits each) Core modules You will study modules equivalent to a minimum of 60 and a maximum of 90 credits from the following (dependent on availability): - Occupational therapy within mental health contexts (30 credits) - Occupational therapy for people with a neurological illness (30 credits) - Paediatric physiotherapy & occupational therapy (30 credits) - Occupational therapy in health and social care settings (30 credits) - Working together in the management of chronic pain (30 credits) - Evidence-based health and social care 1 (15 credits) - Evidence-based health and social care 2 (15 credits) - Independent study (15 credits) - Contemporary issues in reflective practice (15 credits) Please note: availability of modules will be determined by student demand and staff resources. Elective Modules - Modules up to the value of 30 credits can be chosen from the array offered within the Postgraduate Module Catalogue. Plus - Dissertation (MSc only) (60 credits)
