Program Overview

Program Description:
The programme builds on the first part of the Bachelor's programme, which offers general education in the basic sciences (mathematics, physics, chemistry) in combination with a number of select basic technical courses. Of these courses, the applied physics courses (electricity/magnetism, mechanics, thermodynamics) are seen as an absolute minimum. This is followed by the second part of the Bachelor's programme, in which the theoretical basic knowledge of electrical technology and mechanical engineering is offered, building on the basic scientific and technical knowledge of the first part. The internal foundations of this knowledge are system theory and control theory, electrical energy and drives, energy conversion machines and systems, fluid mechanics and heat transition (or transport phenomena). These courses are the core of a possible adjustment programme. To gather designing experience, students are obliged to become acquainted with the different domains in a shared project designing different basic components of an entire system. The project solidifies knowledge obtained in the basic courses in a practical form.

The international Master's programme in Energy has been organised within the EIT-KIC InnoEnergy partner network since 2011-2012. The programme encourages industrial collaboration and entrepreneurship in the domain of energy and includes the technical universities of Eindhoven, Stockholm, Barcelona, Lisbon and Grenoble. This is an initial Master's programme and can be followed on a full-time or part-time basis.
