Information Technology today is evolving in the domain of business, science and even in the personal lives of many of us. It is one of the most dynamic and progressive intellectual enterprises of our age. With this in mind the Department of Information Technology opened its doors in the year 1999. The Department works with the mission of producing highly skilled IT Professionals and stays tuned to the needs of these young IT Professionals. The Department of Information Technology provides a conducive environment for the exploitation of new ideas, experimental design and robust system development. with an aspect of social concern. At present the Department instructs 425 students who are supported by experienced and seasoned staff. Besides theoretical research, students are acquainted to the working atmosphere of many reputed industries and are involved in Industrial Training and Projects. Weekly seminars are conducted by the department, where students have the opportunity to hear and interact with eminent engineers and professionals from all over the nation. The department has a well-equipped Digital Integrated Circuits Lab, Microprocessor Lab and Computer Center [Technology Tower]. The department has a distinguished reputation of excellence in the areas of Networking, Mobile communication, Software and Database . Information Technology has grown beyond its own bounds to become a multidisciplinary field, that touches many other areas of science. With such diversity and depth, it has been a challenge to educate young minds to keep them abreast with this fast paced growth. To keep pace with the changes in the industry, the syllabus is revised and updated every year. On the whole, the Department provides an excellent launch pad for aspiring IT Professionals.
