Program Description:

The MFA at the GSA is a research based, taught programme. It is a forum for new ideas and initiatives, leading to significant explorations in established areas of fine art and in related fields of enquiry. Some students use recognised media to deepen and develop their work within an existing specialism, whilst others challenge the established conventions and argue for a broader reading of the definition of art, seeking more radical developments in technique, concept and theory. The range of media and specialist practices which MFA students are able to explore includes artists' books, audio works, electronic media, film, installation, live art, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, site specific work, text-based work and video.
