Program Overview

Program Description:
Our M.A. History program has quickly developed into a well-rounded and flexible academic program that offers students a wide-ranging variety of options. Our greatest strength is in U.S. history, but we also offer courses of study in Latin American and Caribbean history, medieval Europe, early-modern Europe, Asia, and public history. Some features that set us apart from other programs include an accomplished group of graduate faculty, the opportunity to apply for admission to either the fall or spring semester, course schedules that accommodate evening and part-time study, support for student participation in local and regional history conferences, and comparatively low tuition. As part of the course of study we have both a non-thesis option, and a thesis option designed to suit the needs of students planning to apply to a Ph.D. program
