To be eligible for admission, applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent, and must currently be enrolled in a home institution. Fluency in English is essential, ensuring that students can effectively engage with the curriculum. No prior experience in Spanish is necessary, as classes are designed to accommodate students’ varying language proficiency levels, allowing everyone to participate and learn at their own pace. This approach fosters an inclusive learning environment for all international students.
Academic Credit
Universidad Pablo de Olavide offers a flexible academic structure for students wishing to study abroad while continuing their undergraduate degree. Students can earn 6 ECTS credits (equivalent to 3 U.S. credits) for each course taken, with a maximum of 30 ECTS credits (15 U.S. credits) allowed per semester. The program provides advanced courses in Spanish, in addition to language classes at six different levels, ensuring that even those with little or no background in Spanish can participate. A placement exam at the start of the program determines each student’s language level, allowing for appropriate course selection. Additionally, students with advanced Spanish skills may enroll in up to two regular university courses per semester, subject to sufficient enrollment and course availability.
