Summer Courses
The University of Waikato offers a 6-week Marine Science for Conservation program at its Tauranga campus. This immersive program allows science students to engage in hands-on learning through field trips, laboratory work, and seminars, focusing on marine conservation within the context of Aotearoa New Zealand. Participants will earn 30 Waikato Points, equivalent to 6-9 US credits or 15 ECTS. The curriculum includes two courses: SCIEN301, a capstone project on marine conservation, human use, and underwater noise, and MARIN201, which covers marine conservation and spatial management. Accommodation is provided in beachfront cabins at Mount Maunganui, offering a quintessential Kiwi experience.
