This internship program is designed for those who have studied or previously worked in the field of Social Work. Placement may be in agencies that have multiple services ranging from education services for youths who have been expelled from the mainstream education system; counseling and therapy for individuals, families and couples; support to refugee and migrant families; anger management and violence prevention for individuals; grief and loss support related to death, abortion and relationship issues; living without violence programs; support women in violent relationships; community and social work support to families in need.These internships provide a mature student a supportive environment to learn new skills, within dedicated and enthusiastic teams of social workers and support staff. Those recent graduates with a strong academic record can also get placed in New Zealand institutions to undertake research fellowships.
