Program Overview

Program Description:
The 30-credit Master of Science in Law (MSL) degree at Woodbury College helps non-lawyers gain legal knowledge to increase their effectiveness and advance their careers. In a business and professional climate highly regulated and rich in legal dimensions, the law is so important that everyone should understand it. Woodbury’s MSL degree helps professionals develop the skills to work confidently with the law and lawyers, and prevent needless litigation. The MSL also has special value for foreign attorneys and foreign business executives who wish to understand the American legal system and work with it effectively, and for paralegals seeking advanced training along with an advanced degree. The Health Law concentration explores the current legal issues of patients’ rights to control their own treatment, and the ways in which state and federal law regulate healthcare providers. Students also consider important contemporary problems and advances in healthcare policy as they affect healthcare advocates and providers, along with hospitals and residential care facilities.
