Program Description:
The Western Carolina University MSN Nurse Educator program prepares nurses for the role of nurse educator with competencies in three educational areas: academic educator; staff educator; patient educator. Applicants will be selected for admission to the MSN Program on the basis of intellectual ability, ability to think independently, ability to communicate, self-reliance, motivation, performance, compatibility of professional goals with those of the program, and other qualities appropriate to graduate study in nursing. The MSN Nurse Educator Program requires 38-39 semester hours of coursework, depending on selection of thesis or project option. Application deadline for Fall term is April 15 and October 15 for the Spring term.
