Program Overview

Program Description:
The one-year interdisciplinary MA in Sustainability Program includes core courses in global human systems, resource management and energy science, sustainable organizational management and environmental law and policy. In addition, a key aspect of the degree is experiential learning, as students have the opportunity to engage with organizations that directly and indirectly emphasize sustainability. Students will gain this exposure through the completion of a practicum in applied sustainability as well as through elective courses from among the curricular offerings in each of Wake Forest University’s various academic departments and schools. Students involved in the program will engage in a variety of sustainability related initiatives and analyze the design and outcome of those initiatives. In addition to extensive in-house resources, courses will include guest lecturers and off-site facility visits. These opportunities will provide program participants with unparalleled opportunities to engage with academics and professionals beyond the boundaries of the university campus. The integrated curriculum of our programs prepare students to join the vanguard of the sustainability movement, which is generating extensive and diverse opportunities for graduates in private business, as well as in NGOs, and government bodies.
