Program Description:

The Amsterdam Summer School offers small-scale courses in a wide range of disciplines. The courses are taught by excellent academics, all connected to VU University Amsterdam. Participating in the Amsterdam Summer School will give you a great opportunity to further develop your academic career. You will study together with a diverse group of peers, while spending time in an academically inspiring and cultural environment. The courses will include excursions to a museum or institute, such as the Anne Frank House and the International Criminal Court. Different types of housing are available.

The VU Amsterdam Summer School offers courses in three consecutive blocks, from 30 June to 14 July, from 14 July to 28 July and from 28 July to 11 August. You can combine two or three courses for a four- or six-week programme.

The courses of the Amsterdam Summer School are taught at three different levels, namely Beginner Bachelor, Advanced Bachelor and Master. Courses that are offered both at Bachelor and Master level will have a different workload for Bachelor's and Master's students.

Setting Description:
Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands, has almost 800.000 inhabitants of which about ten percent is a university student. The city counts up to 177 unique nationalities making it one of the most international cities in the world. Over five million tourists yearly visit, some of, the 8863 monuments in the city. Most visitors come to Amsterdam for the world famous Van Gogh, Anne Frank and Rijks museums and the UNESCO World Heritage canal zone. The history of Amsterdam is that of a multicultural trading city that welcomes its visitors with open arms.
Cost:
1000 EUR. The tuition fee of a two-week course will range between € 1000,- and € 1150,- , this includes: Airport pick-up service The orientation programme On-site support 24/7 emergency assistance A transcript of records after completion of the course Housing is not included and ranges from € 450,- (university housing) to € 525,- (housing at The Student Hotel)

Scholarships Description:
The VU Amsterdam Summer School has 10 scholarships available that cover the full tuition fee of one course. This is €1000 or €1150 depending on the course of your choice (housing and social programme activities not included). The scholarship is intended f
