Program Description:

Would you like to do Volunteer Work With Children in India? If yes, you are in the right place; VWI offers you to work for one of our care project for the children which are orphan and street kids.

Volunteers will get involved in a few activities like teaching children basic English and mathematics, personality development classes. Personality development includes talking about having a positive attitude towards life, self-esteem, manners, speaking and behaving in public etc. You will also be involved in activities included in art & craft work, such as drawing and henna painting. Health education programs such as the AIDS-awareness program make them be aware of health & hygiene tips and nutrition. The Center also has a garden where children go and play.

Setting Description:

A large number of deprived and underprivileged children are living on the streets of Jaipur in adverse conditions and they need a proper shelter and counseling services so they can share their problems and experiences with us. These children are either orphans or children who have been sent away from their families or who have left them voluntarily due to difficult life conditions. The major problems they face in life are child-labor, gender discrimination, homelessness, poverty, lack of health care and abuse from members of society. Some children have been kidnapped by criminal gangs and forced into prostitution or child labor; some of them were found left alone on the streets by their parents who did so because of extreme poverty; many of them consume narcotics. With the help of a team of 14 members we found these children in bus and railway stations, temples, under bridges, next to traffic signals etc.

Cost:

$350 for 1 week and $150 for each week thereafter. Students will get 10% Discount in Fees which are joining the project for min 4 weeks.
