Program Overview

Program Description:

When you earn your degree in Virginia Wesleyan's online B.A. in Criminal Justice program, you’ll understand criminal justice issues within their broader social context and have a working knowledge of the law. You’ll learn not just how to work within the criminal justice system, but why that system is necessary and how motives and societal issues contribute to crime.

Professors who are experienced lawyers, criminologists, police officers, NCIS officers, and homicide detectives guide you through coursework to help you understand how theories actually play out in the real world.

Robust coursework includes the following:

    Criminology
    Introduction to Social Research
    Criminal Law
    Senior Integrative Assessment
    Corrections
    Extreme Murder
    Law Enforcement
    Delinquency and Juvenile Justice

If you have a strong sense of ethics and duty to your fellow citizens and want to help the victims of crime, you can work to reduce crime in your community as you enter a career in law enforcement, victim support or court support.

We make it easy to get started. You can transfer up to 96 credits, and study online to graduate in as little as one and a half years.
