Program Overview

Program Description:
Eastern and Central Europe (ECE) is one of the most dynamic regions in the world having undergone significant transformation that still affects lives of millions of people across different countries. Learn the particularities of this exciting region in a 1,5 year long programme which provides knowledge and skills enabling to conduct independent analysis and evaluation of developments in ECE countries and in the region as a whole.

During the first semester students acquire knowledge about domestic policies of the CEE states, while the second semester focuses on the analysis of the foreign policy issues: the processes of interstate cooperation and the specifics of foreign policy. During the second semester students are expected to begin working on their thesis, therefore, the Master's thesis seminars start. The thrid semester is dedicated for the preparation of the Master thesis.

Studying at the IIRPS offers students and opportunity to study in the leading Lithuanian political science institution, which comprises 425-year-old academic traditions and modern teaching and learning methods as well as a possibility to gain an "insider's" perspective on the processes in the region. Students will also visit the countries studied during several study trips included in the curriculum and have an opportunity to learn Lithuanian and/or Russian.
