Program Description:

The Madrid program is ideal for students who wish to study Spanish and European Studies in one of the world's great capitals. Madrid is a fascinating city and has a vibrant culture that provides the perfect setting for language study or art history studies. You will be able to study Spanish language and the complexities of Spanish and contemporary European societies through a wide selection of academic courses, as well as through personal interaction with the host culture.

This program offers two diverse academic areas: Intensive Language and Spanish and European Studies. Our intensive language approach allows you to complete up to two years of university foreign language coursework in only one semester. You may stay for a summer, one semester or a full year. The program also offers excellent classes in Art History, Spanish Cinema, History of Photography, and Drawing. All classes are taught at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos Vicalvaro Campus, which is inviting, modern, and student-friendly. The camp[us provides a great learning and social atmosphere for USAC students.

Program fees include tuition, housing, orientation, field trips, health insurance and some entries to museums and cultural events.

Setting Description:
Madrid is a city of great cultural and political importance. It is one of the liveliest capital cities in Europe and boasts some of the finest art museums in the world. Its location in central Spain makes it a good starting point for any trip to other Spanish cities such as Cordoba, Sevilla, Barcelona, or Valencia or to neighboring countries like France and Portugal. There are many buses and discount airlines that connect Madrid with these destinations and beyond. Morocco is also within easy reach, located just across the Strait of Gibraltar.
