In the second year, students take coursework required for certificaiton as a school psychologist. A highlight of the program is the 600 hours of supervised practica experience in a school setting which exceeds the practical experience in other school psychology programs. Students complete 30 credits of coursework for the Master's and an additional 36 credits for the Education Specialist degree. Students can exit with a Master's, but are encouraged to complete the EdS as most states require the higher level degree to practice.
