Program Description:

Physiology is the study of how the body works. This department exploits the vast information arising from the scientific revolutions of genetics and proteomics to better understand both human health and disease. Research is carried out at genetic, molecular, cellular, organ and whole animal levels. Four major research groups investigate (1) Neuroscience at cellular, molecular and system levels, (2) Cardiovascular and Respiratory function, (3) Endocrinology and Diabetes and (4) Reproduction and Development. Graduates of the Physiology Graduate Program often enter Medicine or hold important positions in universities, other health sciences and industry. The atmosphere is intellectually challenging but friendly.
