Program Overview

Program Description:
The Master of Forest Conservation is an intensive 16-month professional program with a focus on practical training. Environmental, social and economic aspects of forest conservation are examined through lectures, Canadian and international field courses, an internship focused on application of theoretical aspects, and a major paper. A special emphasis is placed on the integration of different aspects through case studies. The program starts in September and requires full-time intensive involvement throughout. Students take five courses in each of the first two semesters followed by the International Forest Conservation Field Camp in May and an internship from June to August. In the final semester, two elective courses are taken and the students prepare and publicly defend their major paper.
