- The Graduate School of Engineering has both master's and doctoral programs in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering. The teaching staff comes from the Department of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering as well as from the Institute of Industrial Science, and is engaged in comprehensive instruction and research in three major fields including Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering and Basic Engineering. In recent years, the number of international students in the Department has been increasing. As of 1997, three master's students, ten doctoral candidates, and one undergraduate students are from foreign countries.
