- The Master of Divinity (M.Div.) is a professional degree program designed to develop the academic, spiritual and pastoral skills necessary for ministerial leadership in the Church. The program is available to men preparing for ordination to the Roman Catholic priesthood. Candidates for the Roman Catholic priesthood must complete a 126-hour program that conforms to the Program of Priestly Formation established by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops. Students in this program must have the approval of their Bishop or religious superior. In addition diocesan seminarians must be admitted to St. Mary’s Seminary.

- The program requires the completion of 126 hours with a minimum cumulative average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale, including 104 credit hours of required courses, 12 credit hours of electives and 10 credit hours of pastoral field education.* *Ecclesiastical authorities of candidates for sacramental ordination may specify additional requirements in academics and in pastoral field education. Students are responsible for consulting the directives of ecclesiastical superiors in such matters.
