Program Description:

The Master of Arts in Catholic Educational Leadership (MACEL) is a 36 hour program for Catholic school administrator preparation with additional emphasis on the theology and purpose of Catholic eduction. The 36 hours include a six-hour research core. This program is jointly sponsored by the School of Education and the Center for Faith and Culture. The degree is for Catholic school leaders and/or administrators who would like advanced preparation and for public school administrators beginning a career in Catholic Education. It provides additional training on the special role Catholic school administrators have for both academic and spiritual development of their faculty, staff and students. The program places distinct emphasis on the integration of faith and the American way of life. This program is not eligible for state principal certification without additional coursework. However, Texas Public School Certificates are not required to work in Catholic Schools.
