Program Description:

For individuals wishing to begin careers in elementary teaching, St. Thomas offers a 34-41 semester-credit program that certifies students for careers as elementary classroom teachers in Minnesota. Students successfully completing an additional four courses are awarded the master of arts in teaching: elementary degree

Teacher licensure programs are currently being revised to meet new State of Minnesota requirements. Contact the School of Education for information on new program requirements
• Application deadlines are Nov. 1 for spring semester, April 1 for summer session and June 1 for fall semester
• Program emphasizes reflective, active, outcome-oriented learning
• Program models the use of partnerships between university and school settings and between education and liberal arts faculties
