- Emphasis is placed on a broad academic and practical training in the environmental earth sciences, including meteorology and climatology, geomorphology and landforms, pedology and soil systems, and hydrology and water resources. This is integrated with studies in human geography, in the fields of human settlements, population geography and land issues. The course also examines the role of demography, economics, politics and history in shaping the human environment and in planning for a sustainable future.
