Program Description:
Designed for a student who has a bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years teaching experience, this 30-hour program provides a student with relevant knowledge, skills, and experiences needed to be prepared for entry into instructional leadership. Field experiences are embedded throughout the required courses, and a residency offers the opportunity to practice real-world skills in the school. Requirements:
Applicants for the M.Ed. (Class A Certification) Instructional Leadership program must submit the following: Application for Admission to Graduate Admissions & Records. $30.00 application fee. Two official transcripts from ALL colleges/universities attended. Copy of Alabama Class B teaching certificate. Competitive score on either the GRE or MAT. The test must have been taken within 5 years of the date of application for graduate study. Earned baccalaureate-level Professional Educator Certificate in a teaching field or earned master’s-level Professional Educator Certificate in a teaching field or instructional support area . Official experience form (EXP) verifying three (3) years teaching experience. A GPA of at least 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) on all undergraduate work attempted or 2.75 on the last 60 hours of undergraduate work attempted. Passing score on an admission portfolio.
